| 2008 News and Plans |
Plans for a return to Jersey are in the works, hopefully with a more competitive station in this year's IOTA contest.
AFS CW results are out. Our A team (G3ZVW, G3YIQ, G3OLB and
G3SWH) made fourth place in the first contest of the season. One
of our best ever AFS performances.
The HF Club Championships are also a great source of fun for the group.
A much stronger data mode capability this year is helping,
but there are plenty of other clubs who are also getting stronger in
every department. |

Jersey 2007 - GJ6YB
|
|
After three
very successful years on Bere Island for the IOTA contest we decided to
try something different for 2007. We travelled to Jersey with one
mobile tower a generator, a multi-op station and eight
operators.
Thanks to the
Environmental Agency on Jersey we were able to operate from the German
Rangefinding Tower near the racecourse. We had a good time and
did quite well in the contest in spite of some technical hitches which
meant we had to operate without amplifiers. We came 13th in the Expedition section. RESULTS HERE
