After suffering on the wet, windy cliffs of
the Isle of Man for the past two years of we decide to head south to the sun.

So here we all are looking like roast chickens after one of the warmest
weekends of the year. This photo shows one of the A3S beams with the white cliffs of the
Needles in the far distance.
Just to prove this was a real DXpedition station, here we are waiting for the ferry
with all our equipment in tow. One mobile tower, loads of poles, carvan, and a suspicious
looking yellow van towing our equipment trailer.
The Station
Once we were on site the station was soon set up. Here's the main station (FT1000 +
TL922) with Neil on the mic. The night before the contest we proved the site was fantastic
with a string of VKs worked throughout the night on 15meters.
Here is the view at sunset.
In the foreground you can make out the figure of Chris
standing by the tower holding the 40m Cushcraft beam and another A3S. (It's the tower
holding the beams, not Chris)
Multipliers
The Multiplier station was a TS930 and TL922. Here we show Robin having a good search
around. 375 mults worked this year - not bad for amateurs. We believe we have finished in
the top 6 stations in the Multi-op Island section. Take
a look at our final score.
Time to pack up and take one last shot of the group next to the
caravan, after all the tents have been taken down.
